AI Settings
Choose when Filo processes email with AI and whether it discovers to-dos or summarizes attachments. These controls are separate from email notification settings.
Find the controls
- Open Settings → Subscription on Desktop, or Settings → Filo Plus on mobile.
- Find AI Settings and change the controls you need.
- Wait for the setting to save. If an error appears, retry before switching accounts.
Automatic email summaries
Automatic AI Processing lets Filo process newly received emails and generate summaries in the background.
Process Archived Emails controls whether automatic processing also includes archived mail. It is available when Automatic AI Processing is enabled.
Summarize when opening an email controls automatic generation when you open a message that does not already have a summary. It is separate from background processing.
To-dos and attachments
Automatically Discover To-dos controls whether AI looks for action items in email. Turning it off reduces AI usage and keeps existing to-dos. The iOS 2.2.9 and Android 2.3.1 releases announced this control.
Summarize Attachments adds file summaries below the email summary. Use the attachment guide for viewing, language, and retry instructions.
Check usage and notifications separately
AI generation uses the AI usage available to your account. Check subscription, balance, and usage in the same settings area if processing stops.
To change which email alerts you receive, open Settings → Notification instead. Changing an AI processing switch does not replace system notification permissions or mailbox notification settings.
