Filo's AI Translation rethinks the workflow: with machine‑translation‑level speed, it adds context awareness and preference memory/self‑tuning, so your translations feel smoother, more natural, and more trustworthy.

First‑time setup

  1. In a foreign‑language email, click Translate (inside "..." next to reply icon).
  2. Choose your target language (defaults to your app interface language).
  3. (Optional) Enable Always translate non‑target‑language emails.

You can change this anytime in the translate setting box.

Speed & quality

  • •More context‑savvy: The model considers key thread context to avoid pronoun mistakes and bad term choices.

Draft TranslateDesktop

On the desktop app, you can translate selected text directly in the compose editor. Filo automatically detects the source language and displays the translation result, making it easy to draft multilingual emails.

How to use

  1. Select the text you want to translate in the compose editor.
  2. Right‑click to open the context menu and click "Translate".
  3. A translation popover appears near the selection, showing the original text and the translation result.
  4. Click "Copy Translation" to copy the result and paste it into your email.

Language detection

  • •New email: Source language defaults to your app interface language.
  • •Reply: Source language is auto‑detected from the email content.
  • •The translate option only appears when the source and target languages differ.

Supported languages

Supports translation between 14 languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Thai, Ukrainian, and Hindi.
