Attachment Summaries
Read an AI summary of a supported attachment below the email summary, so you can understand the file before opening it. The September 28 releases added or improved attachment summaries on Desktop, iOS, and Android.
View a file summary
- Open Settings → Subscription on Desktop, or Settings → Filo Plus on mobile, and find AI Settings.
- Turn on Summarize Attachments, then open an email with attachments.
- Read the file summary below the email summary. Open the original attachment when you need the full details.
Language and regeneration
Check Summary, To-do under Settings → Language when the output language is unexpected. Auto follows the email’s primary language; a selected language requests output in that language.
After changing the language, use the regeneration prompt or the summary’s Regenerate action to update an existing result. On iOS, the September 28 release explicitly added manual regeneration for attachment summaries.
Reuse and troubleshooting
Desktop 2.3.7 added cross-device reuse of attachment summaries. Sign in to the same Filo account on your devices to reuse an available result.
If generation fails, check your connection and available AI usage, then use the available retry action. Update the app if the summary or retry controls are missing. A summary can omit details: check the original file before making decisions.
